What
keeps you awake at night? Is it a process
you should alter to reduce its risks?
Maybe Worker’s Comp costs of a
division getting out of hand? Or, perhaps
it’s starting the safety regimen
of a new operation. Whatever your safety
challenges, we can help. This is especially
important because not much is intrinsically
safe in an ever-changing world. We can
assist you in reducing risk for operations,
processes, equipment, products and methods.

Safety
Origins
The age-old process of risk reduction
was documented thousands of years ago.
The first concerns were expressed in
Scriptures around 977 B.C., appearing
in Ecclesiastes, chapter 10: “He
that diggeth a pit shall fall into it…and
he that cleaveth wood shall be endangered
thereby.” These excavating and
woodcutting hazards were well-founded
back then as today. The ancient text
goes on to say that if the operator
exercised wisdom in woodcutting, then
precautions would include sharpening
the axe. A clear case was made for using
the right plan, design and tools to
ward off accident and injury.
The
modern definition of safety is: “Freedom
from risk or damage…” Since
absolute freedom from risk is virtually
impossible, we are here to help you
reduce risk to the degree economically
possible.
Establishing
Direction
One of many places to start is by reviewing
your present objective and, if necessary,
refining it. Then, in accord with that
objective, you may want to arrange an
evaluation of safety at your headquarters,
regional, overseas, local or operational
level. If you elect to participate,
once the evaluation is completed, determining
direction is simplified by the objectives
outlined in the SS&E report that
follows. If you need assistance in refining
the objective, we understand. There
are literally dozens of Safety/Risk
Evaluation types from which to choose
and we can help you narrow down the
process.
